Mill Store

Project Overview

I am currently working as a part-time designer for Mill Store 1865, a new gallery in Bennington, Vermont. I am so grateful for the opportunity to design several event posters, flyers, and social media posts.

Mill Store 1865 is run by Vance Chatel, who seeks to uplift artists, spread positivity, and spark connection. He sells vintage goods, artsy gifts, and unique pieces that turn heads. Additionally, the store serves as a gallery featuring several local artists. The store opened 3 months ago, and has already hosted a series of successful events. Vance wants the building to be a third space, which the small town of Bennington currently lacks.

Vance used to be a designer himself, and has been a mentor for my personal design growth. His personal aesthetic is bold colors, large text, and emphasis, which I have woven together with my style. I use a combination of interesting typefaces, expressive color palettes, and grain to communicate his values of radiance and creativity. I look forward to continuing to build my portfolio and gain invaluable design skills.
